Agidgim's Corporation has officially launched a Microfinance
Consulting practice, in partnership with Micro Venture Support, Inc., (MVS) focused on
the development of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs). Specificaly, Agidigm
will focus its new MFI practice in four principal areas. These areas are:
(1) The establishment of new MFIs; (2) The improvement of existing MFI
operations to support opportunities for growth; (3) The preparation of MFIs for the
implementation of new information tchnologies; and, (4) The development of new
opportunities for Micro Venture Support (MVS™) and Micro Venture Creation
(MVC™) in areas served by new or existing MFIs.
|
 |
(1) Establishing new MFIs |
 |
| Agidigm, in partnership with MVS will work with organization
seeking to establish new Microfinance Institutions (MFIs); these MFIs may be either
inside or outside of the US. Agidigm and MVS, in cooperation with the client organization
will perform the necessary in-country analysis of the political, social, technological,
and business environment, prior to determing the appropriate structure, governance, and operating
procedures for the new MFI. Additionally, Agidigm and MVS will assist in the selection of primary
MFI staff, and provide operating procedures training for them.
|
 |
(2) Improving existing MFI operations to support opportunities for growth |
 |
| Agidigm will offer its "Managing for Growth™" (MFG) training curriculum
to existing MFIs, along with appropriate consulting services to assist their personnel in fully
implementing the concepts contained in MFG courses. Through the application of these concepts,
MFIs will see significant improvements in current operations, as well as gain the insight they need
to determine what changes in organizational structure, processes, personnel and technology are required
to support their strategic growth plans.
|
 |
(3) Preparing MFIs for the implementation of new information tchnologies |
 |
| Agidigm will offer selected courses from its "Managing for Growth"
curriculum and focused consulting activities to support MFIs that are considering significant
implementations of new technology (such as The Grameen Foundation's MIFOS loan portfolio management
system). This combination of coursework and consulting will focus on Process Modeling, Gap Analysis, Technology Readiness,
Implementation Planning, and Performance-Based Training (PBT), utilizing Agidigm's unique approach to PBT.
|
 |
(4) Developing new opportunities for Micro Venture Support (MVS™)
and Micro Venture Creation (MVC™) |
 |
| Agidigm, in partnership with Micro Venture Support, Inc.,
will work with MFIs and other organizations that seek to implement Micro Venture
Support (MVS™) and Micro Venture Creation (MVC™) for existing businesses
currently served by MFIs. These services will focus on determing which businesses
are capable of expanded growth, using Agidigm's and MVS's proprietary investment model.
Once a business has been selected, Agdigm and MVS will then work with the
entrepenuer(s) to develop a growth strategy and functional business plan that can measureably
implement that strategy. Support will be provided to these businesses on a multi-year model.

Cameroon Initiative
|
 |
| Agidigm Corporation, in partnership with Micro Venture
Support, Inc., is currently working on a project to create a new MFI in Cameroon,
Africa. This project, which is sponsored by Bethel World Outreach Ministries
International and Nehemiah Projects International Ministries, will create a new,
faith-based MFI that will also offer Agidigm's and Micro Venture Support's microventure
support (MVS) and microventure creation (MVC) services for advanced entrepenuers.
|
| |
|
This initiative to create a "greenfield" MFI, with advanced
entrepenurial support and growth opportunities (implementing new technologies not currently
available in Cameroon), represents a significant departure from the normal planning process for the
creation of a new MFI, in that enhanced services to support opportunities for growth beyond
subsistence-level businesses are being incorporated as a key strategy component.
The concept of integrating Microfinance, Micro Venture Support and Micro Venture Creation (MFI / MVS / MVC)
into a comphrehensive offering that can be implemented either in phases or in parrallel was created by
Agidgim Corporation and Micro Venture Support, Inc.
The Cameroon Initiative is unique in another aspect, in that it is planned to serve as the basis for
creating and proving an expanded MFI concept that can then be rapidly implemented in 12 other African
countries serviced by Bethel. Requests have already been received for this type of expanded MFI
concept from Liberia, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and other countries in the Horn of Africa.

Enda Inter-Arabe |
 |
| As a follow-on to Agidigm's succesful one-day executive
orientation seminar on Business Process Modeling / Business Process Managmeent
(BPM/M™) provided to executives from 14 MFIs at The Grameen Foundation
(USA) High-Growth Partners conference held in New Delhi, India, in October 2006,
Agidigm was invited by Mme. Essma Ben Hamida, Co-director, to present a one-week
course on BPM/M at ENDA Inter-Arabe (ENDA-ia) in Tunisia.
|
| |
|
Agidigm's BPM/M course delivered at ENDA
was a derivative of its commercially available courseware, and was modified specifically
for applicability to an MFI. The delivery of this course was paid for through a
grant to ENDA from the Grameen-Jameel Pan-Arab Microfinance Limited (Grameen-Jameel) joint-venture.
The course was delivered to 17 individuals from ENDA, who ranged from newly hired
managers to their experienced Director of Operations. Following a highly successful
training program, ENDA's staff rated our BPM/M course as one of the best they had attended.
ENDA, which is the only MFI in Tunisia, and a very
thriving one at that, has over 60,000 loans outstanding.
A the reciepient of numerous international and Tunisian
awards for the transparency and quality of their operations,
ENDA was looking for training that would support improvement
of their operations as well an active project installing a
major new IT system. After participating in The
Grameen Foundaton (USA) High-Growth Partner conference in New
Delhi, ENDA determined that Agidigm's BPM/M training was what it
needed to improve the IT project they had already started.
After a successful initial engagement, ENDA has informed Agidigm that
they would like us to provide follow-on training and consulting services in
2008.
